Teddy R. Sims, age 74, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville, Missouri.

He was born April 3, 1938, in Purdy, Missouri, the son of Willie “Bill” and Velma (Swadley) Sims. On December 8, 1989, in Miami, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Glenda Bingham, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Ronnie Keen of Avoca, Arkansas; three daughters, Velma Jean Sims of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Theresa Cornelison and her husband, Robert of Garland, Texas and Kristy Stewart and her fiancé, Dozer Keithley of Clever, Missouri; one brother, Rockford Sims and his wife, Sue of Exeter, Missouri; two sisters, Imogene Coin of Independence, Missouri and Treva Bruce of the State of Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Jarold Sims; one daughter, Katrina Sims; one brother, Robert Sims; one sister, Thaxie Jo Coin and one nephew, Tommy Coin.

Teddy grew up and received his education at Purdy. From September 30, 1955 until November 10, 1955, he served in the United States Navy. Most of his life was spent as a self-employed truck driver. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Purdy Community Center. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
